MENS REBELLIS IN CORPORE REBELLO

Oddaja

Oddajo pripravljajo Zala Turšič, Tea Hvala in Marko Karlovčec, v etru bo Teja Oblak.

Do kmalu!

FEMINIST RADIO SHOW SEKTOR W(omen) - MENS REBELLIS AND CORPORE REBELLO

The April edition of Sektor Ž unveils two feminist analyses of selected chapters in gynaecology and psychiatry; fields that continue to invade our rebellious bodies and minds.

March was dedicated to the awareness-raising campaign about endometriosis, a disease more common that breast cancer, in which the tissue that normally grows inside the uterus grows outside it, causing chronic pain. In her contribution, Zala Turšič is going to ask why endometriosis is too often diagnosed and treated only years after its appearance.

We continue with Tea Hvala's report on Združena levica's (United Left Party) initiative to lower the tax on menstrual pads, cups and tampons, which could significantly cheapen their cost for menstruating users.

Next, we feature an interview with Chiara Gazzola, Italian anarchist, feminist, anti-clericalist and independent researcher. In March, she visited Koper’s INDE where she presented her book “Fra diagnosi e peccato – la discriminazione secolare nella psichiatria e nella religion” (Between diagnosis and sin – secular discrimination in psychiatry and religion). Marko Karlovčec interviewed her about the invention and treatment of mental illnesses by psychiatry, aligned with religious institutions and their tradition of disciplining women. Chiara Gazzola also shared her own views on treatment and institutionalization.

The show prepared by Zala Turšič, Tea Hvala and Marko Karlovčec will be hosted by Teja Oblak.

Until soon!
